If your reading this, you’re are almost certainly ‘in the know’ but just in case / for my friends who have been too busy (or perhaps just need an escape) I highly recommend attending the following events:
#DCTweetup 25 – Get Away to The Getaway
Organized by my friend Melanie Spring (also known as @sisarina) #dctweetup’s are not to be missed. Boost your Klout score and see for yourself what a trending event is really like!

@SMCDC Summer Social
While Tweetups are a great getaway from over-organized conferences (and PowerPoints) SMCDC is a great organization that adds just enough structure to be great for business development while still retaining the social element.
Also, SMCDC is currently looking for new executive level offices, of which I plan on applying and doing some new school campaigning for the either the position of VP Marketing and Partnerships Committee or VP of Digital. Of course, the more competition there are for these types of volunteer positions, the better so I look forward to the challenge. More info about SMCDC and the openings on the committees can be found here.

For the complete rundown of what’s hot in DC I highly recommend my friend Lisa Byrne’s (aka @dceventjunkie) website at http://dceventjunkie.com/ as well as Greg’s List and the Cloture Club website / list serve.
